I paint what I feel,
I paint what I see,
I paint what I know ...
Painting connects me to the conversation between reality and the imagination. The quiet of my dream world may lead to a story, or some narrative or memory.
Sometimes the ideas come to me complete, and others need greater introspection to discover their meanings. Finding the right images, gestures or form, among other painting elements and techniques, is the gratifying artistic journey that creates an understanding of those ideas.
Tapestries, are a free-flowing form, composed of painted pieces of canvas, stitched together by hand, encapsulating remembered moments and experiences. They are stories; stories I've researched of others; stories told to me by others; stories of my own.
